Partnership to Improve Lithium-ion Battery Monitoring in Electric Three-Wheelers Supports USAID Energy Project
[SEATTLE, WA, APRIL 18, 2024] — Astrolabe Analytics Inc., a leading provider of battery analytics solutions, in partnership with SOLshare, a pioneer in solar energy and smart grids, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to monitor and improve battery life of electric vehicles (EVs) in Bangladesh. The contract is awarded by USAID, through USAID’s Bangladesh Advancing Development and Growth through Energy (BADGE) project. It marks Astrolabe’s entry into the Bangladesh market and represents a significant step towards advancing sustainable energy solutions in the region.
The Battery Health Monitoring for SOLShare’s Lithium-ion Battery Fleet Project aims to address critical challenges surrounding the performance, safety, and longevity of lithium-ion batteries in SOLShare’s electric three-wheelers. By implementing Astrolabe’s patent-pending battery analytics technology, the project seeks to enhance battery monitoring and management, ultimately driving the adoption.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with SOLShare, Tetra Tech, and USAID on this groundbreaking project,” said Robert Masse, Founder and CEO of Astrolabe. “This partnership allows us to demonstrate our expertise in addressing true operational issues faced by battery-operated asset owners as they scale. Our innovative approach to battery health monitoring will not only improve the performance and safety of Lithium-ion batteries but also contribute to the broader goal of promoting sustainable energy solutions in Bangladesh.”
“This collaboration will contribute to sustainable energy solutions and socio-economic benefits for Bangladesh by advancing the transition to longer-lasting lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles,” said Ed Elrahal, Chief of Party of the USAID BADGE project. “Together, we seek to reduce the environmental impact of transportation and demonstrate the promise of improved energy storage and resilience, which has far-reaching implications for mobilizing the EV transition in Bangladesh.”
The project highlights Astrolabe’s commitment to providing valuable services and products that address the evolving needs of the EV industry. Through strategic collaborations and innovative solutions, Astrolabe is poised to make a significant impact on the global transition to sustainable energy.
